A laundry room at a property in Eltham, South Taranaki, has caught fire with flames reaching the ceiling. Emergency services responded to calls from the house at 9pm about a fire in their washhouse, Fire and Emergency New Zealand (FENZ) shift manager Allison Munn said. Two crews from Eltham station attended and upon arrival they found that the fire had started to spread to the ceiling. Munn said the blaze was contained to the room and firefighters quickly extinguished the fire. They spent a good amount of time at the scene to make sure there were no hot spots and the fire stayed out. Crews left the scene just after 10pm.
Tips for Financial Management for Students:
Create a Budget:
Creating a budget is the first step towards financial management for students. List down all your expenses and income, and allocate a specific amount of money for each expense category. This will help you keep track of your spending and ensure that you don't overspend.
Cut Down Unnecessary Expenses:
As a student, you may be tempted to spend money on things you don't need. To save money, try cutting down on unnecessary expenses like eating out, buying expensive clothes or gadgets, and going out to parties.
Save Money:
Saving money should be a part of your financial management plan. Set aside a specific amount of money each month for emergencies, unexpected expenses, or future investments. You can also use a savings account or invest in stocks to earn more interest on your savings.
Manage Your Student Loans:
Student loans can be a significant financial burden, but there are ways to manage them. Try to pay off your loans as soon as possible, and consider consolidating them to get a lower interest rate. You can also look into income-driven repayment plans that adjust your loan payments based on your income.
Plan Your Financial Future:
Financial planning is crucial for students as it helps them set financial goals and achieve them. Set specific financial goals like saving for a new laptop or a study abroad program, and create a plan to achieve them.
